Deadline: NIH 2016 Lasker Clinical Research Scholars Program

The NIH, in partnership with the Lasker Foundation, announces the 2016 Lasker Clinical Research Scholars Program.

The application deadline is today August 26th, 2016. The positions will start in 2017. Please click here to apply.

This is an opportunity for up to 10 years of funding for clinical researchers, with the goal of nurturing the next generation of clinical researchers. The Lasker program supports a small number of clinical researchers in the early stages of their careers to promote their development as independent investigators.  This program provides scholars with five to seven years of support as an independent principal investigator in the IRP, followed by 3 years of funding at an extramural research institution at up to $500,000 in direct costs per year.

In some cases, Lasker Scholars may be able to maintain an affiliation with their previous institution while working at the NIH.  Scholars may also have the opportunity to remain in the IRP rather than leaving for an extramural position, by mutual agreement.
